Everyday thermal comfort
The glasswool layer resists heat flow in both directions. That makes well-insulated rooms less vulnerable to roof-space heat in summer and helps retain indoor warmth during cooler weather.

BETTER CEILING COMFORT STARTS HERE
A ceiling can allow significant heat transfer between living spaces and the roof cavity. 100mm Aerolite Insulation helps limit that transfer, keeping indoor conditions more stable as outdoor temperatures change. It works passively once fitted and does not require electricity to deliver its insulating effect.
At 100 mm thick, the blanket offers a balance between thermal resistance and roll coverage. The right thickness still depends on your building's energy zone, insulation already in place and whether the work is a retrofit or new construction. The declared R-value of 100mm Aerolite Insulation must never be mistaken for a guarantee that an entire roof assembly meets a particular regulation.
The glasswool layer resists heat flow in both directions. That makes well-insulated rooms less vulnerable to roof-space heat in summer and helps retain indoor warmth during cooler weather.
With 7.2 m² of nominal coverage per roll, 100mm Aerolite Insulation lets you estimate quantities by floor plan or measured ceiling area. Our live calculator rounds up to whole rolls.
The fibrous construction provides useful acoustic absorption inside the ceiling void. It is not a standalone soundproofing system; ceilings, walls, gaps and other construction details also affect noise transmission.

FLEXIBLE. RESILIENT. EASY TO PLAN.
The 100mm Aerolite Soft Touch product uses a resilient glasswool blanket packed into compact rolls. After unpacking, Isover advises allowing 24–48 hours for the product to recover its thickness. This is useful when planning transport, handling and installation.
The wording 100mm Soft Touch Aerolite describes the same product variation. The blanket can be trimmed for the spaces between timber members and laid to form a continuous insulating layer. Handle it carefully, keep it dry and avoid packing it down to make it fit underneath services or obstructions.
100mm Aerolite Insulation can be useful for replacing inadequate or damaged ceiling coverage, but assessing old material first is important. It may also form part of an engineered multi-layer solution where the design calls for it. Confirm required performance before selecting thickness solely on price.
BUY THE RIGHT SPECIFICATION
Knowing the true roll dimensions avoids ordering too little material. Isover lists this product variation as 6,000 mm long and 1,200 mm wide, giving 7.2 m² of nominal area per roll.
The 2.50 figure refers to the insulation material itself. Whole-roof performance depends on the remaining layers, thermal bridges and installation. For many new-build situations, 135 mm provides a higher material R-value.

LIVE ROLL QUANTITY PLANNER
Enter the ceiling area you want to cover. One roll of 100mm Aerolite Insulation provides 7.2 m² before site cuts, overlaps or unavoidable offcuts. The calculator adds an optional allowance and rounds up to the next whole roll; you can change the final roll quantity in the quote form.
For a 100 m² ceiling with 100mm Aerolite Insulation, you need 14 rolls without an allowance (100.8 m² nominal coverage). Allowing 5% increases the estimate to 15 rolls, or 108 m² of nominal coverage. This is a practical planning calculation, not a site survey or final installation layout.

QUOTE BASED ON YOUR REQUIREMENTS
The best way to compare a 100mm Aerolite Price is to look at how many rolls are needed and what is included. Supply-only prices differ from delivered or installed costs. Rather than show a figure that may have changed, we provide a current quotation based on your roll quantity and location.
For 100mm Aerolite Insulation, divide the quoted price per roll by 7.2 to calculate the material price per nominal square metre. Then consider VAT, delivery, site offcuts and any installation labour. This gives a more useful comparison than looking at roll prices without checking roll size.
A 100mm Aerolite Price enquiry can be for a few rolls or an entire ceiling. If you have the room measurements but not a finished area calculation, use the calculator and add notes explaining access, existing insulation and any unusual ceiling shapes.
INSTALLATION MATTERS
A continuous layer of 100mm Aerolite Insulation is what makes a difference. Follow Isover’s installation instructions, site safety practices and the relevant requirements around wiring, luminaires, flues and ventilation.
Look for roof leaks, damaged ceiling boards, electrical hazards and existing insulating material before bringing rolls into the roof space.
Break the project into rooms or roof-space sections. Allow for difficult edges and cutting; measure ceiling coverage rather than estimating from the overall property footprint.
Lay the blanket neatly and retain its designed 100 mm thickness. Cut around obstructions, maintain safe service clearances and leave ventilation paths open.
Look for uninsulated gaps, hidden corners and displaced blankets. Use stable access equipment; never step directly onto ceiling boards.
GOOD QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU ORDER
One roll of 100mm Aerolite Insulation is listed by Isover as 6 m long and 1.2 m wide. That equals a nominal 7.2 m² of coverage. Buy enough whole rolls for the planned ceiling area and likely offcuts.
Isover lists the material R-value as 2.50 m²·K/W. This is distinct from the thermal resistance of the complete roof and ceiling system. Check the applicable energy-zone requirement and the design specification.
Do not assume it does for a new building. Isover’s energy-zone guide identifies the 100 mm option for zone 5H; it specifies 135 mm for most other listed zones. A qualified designer or installer should confirm the requirements for your particular building and location.
Possibly, provided existing material is safe, clean, dry and suitable to retain. Check for compression, gaps, ventilation paths and service clearances. Seek advice if the ceiling already has several layers or unknown insulation.
Divide your quoted roll price by 7.2 m². Add delivery, VAT where applicable and installation charges if you are comparing total project prices. Our quote can distinguish material supply from a delivered or installed price.
Yes. Use the Add to Quote button and enter a whole roll quantity directly. Alternatively, type the ceiling area into our calculator and transfer the estimated number of rolls into the form automatically.
